Emily moved to North Carolina in 2010. She grew up in coastal Maine, where the winters are long and the tennis season is short. As such, she did not start playing seriously until moving south. Now she plays year-round and believes it is never too cold for a match—just add another layer! She is a nurse practitioner and lives in Durham with her husband, Shane, and their two daughters, Sutton and Alden.
