It's that time of year again! Come out and join us for the 4th Annual Althea Gibson Memorial Tournament. This tournament not only honors the legacy of tennis trailblazer Althea Gibson, but it also serves as a reminder of our commitment to inclusiveness in the Durham tennis community.

Come out and join us for the 4th Annual Althea Gibson Memorial Tournament at Whippoorwill Park on September 9 and September 10, 2023. The two-day tournament will not only honor the legacy of tennis trailblazer Althea Gibson, the first African American to win a Grand Slame title, but it also serves as a reminder of our commitment to inclusiveness in the Durham tennis community.

Format: Women's and Men's Doubles
Play: 8-Game Pro Sets
Matches: Each team will play a minimum of 2 matches. This will be a round robin blind draw. Teams with the most points and least games lost move on to the semi-finals.
Levels: Women's 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0
Men's 3.0, 3.5, 4.0
Registration Begins: July 1st
Registration Ends: September 25th
